Lovely family break. We had visited the hotel when it was a Hilton previously 4 times and found some small improvements now that it is Rixos (Entertainment, Football Pitch, Table Tennis) but some big changes which we were not happy with. We were very disappointed that the beach bar is now a juice bar and so you have to walk to the other side of the hotel to get a drink and by the time you walk back they are warm. The beach bar was the hub of the hotel previously and was so lovely in the afternoons to watch the sunset and chill on bean bags. This completely changed things for us. You also used to be able to eat here for lunch and order salads/wraps etc. Same with Sol bar now having a limited lunch menu. Booking system for restaurants was stressful as you have a 30 second window to book one of the restaurants. Would be good if the menus changed regularly for these restaurants. Food was still to a high quality and we love the location.
It’s a nice place, but: - the villas are old and needs renovation - it’s too crowded - not enough sunbeds, if you’re not on move before 8am you’ll probably not get a sunbed. You’ll see almost noboby on the beach or by the pools before 9-10am but every singe sunbed has an towel on it! - quality of food in buffet and lunch is not good - difficult to get reservation for a la carte restaurants which are better than buffet, but norhing special. Taste of food is poir as in buffet. - i think overall it was better before when still owned by Hilton.
The food was delicious in all spots we got to try. Great service throughout the hotel. There were plenty of pools and beach space to choose from.
I have been to the same venue when it was Hilton hotels, but the actual management of the hotel and experience, evening shows, pool and gym activities made it into something new! Staff were exceptional, Emran from house keeping, was amazing, and the manager Cecilia all contributed to making it more personal and enjoyable, due to there efforts, I now consider Rixos as my go to hotel, though I am an ambassador level in intercontinental, and part of Marriott vacation club!
We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the hotel. It is a little bit far out from Dubai central but has everything you need for a wonderful holiday, even if you never leave the hotel. Friendly staff, amazing facilities, and wonderful food made for a great stay
