Rixos Premium Dubrovnik

Overall good stay with both positives and negatives about the hotel.

Overall we are happy with our experience at Rixos Premium Dubrovnik, the view from the room and the pool area were unbeatable. The food at breakfast was surprisingly good. The rooms are a bit dated and are in need of a good update; especially the bathrooms!!!! For 700+ euro a night there was a bit of 'luxury' missing. Mainly the pool area, seems to be open to the public, there is a clear lack of day beds available for guests and a large amount of space utilized for the restaurant which was seemingly empty every time we were trying to get to the pool area. while the pool was a MAJOR selling point on the website and ultimately was the reason why we chose this hotel, it does not have a view of the ocean which is implied in the pictures. Drinks were pricey but that is expected at a nice hotel's pool but overall the lack of available seating was the largest drawback!

Lovely hotel with excellent service, and the best buffet breakfast I’ve experienced. Great location and very comfortable room.

We stayed in late June the hotel was busy but the lobby areas were always quiet and lovely to sit in. The pool however was always very crowded and sunbeds scarce. Maybe if it was made clear that the sunbeds on the lawn area were available to use this would help alleviate that. We only ate once at the hotel which was lunch and was fine but we weren’t enticed to eat there more often as the restaurants in the old town were superb and in a beautiful location . Drinks were expensive in general but in town the cocktail s were better presented with time taken to make them look and taste special. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice staff were at times slow to service although on one occasion our table was completely cleared while we were at the buffet and we had to re order teas and coffees and get juice and have the table relayed. We had only started breakfast so after that one of us always stayed at the table until the other came back. There was also a number of times when I went to the buffet and the plates and bowls were badly chipped . It would take very little to have these removed while being washed. Regarding our room it was huge and well appointed although a shower in the bath isn’t what we are used to and somewhat awarkward to get in and out of. Maybe this type of room should be held for those travelling with children, Also we had one robe that really should have been in the trash it was covered in bleach stains and had a large hole . Again easily remended by removing during laundry. All in all though we had a lovely stay and would return and recommend the hotel particularly to those who aren’t sun worshippers and don’t want to be in the sun and by the pool all day.
