Rixos Sungate

Overall we had a pleasant stay at Rixos Sungate but felt let down by a few things while there.

The pros Nice facilities Great gym and classes On the beach Great for kids (Soft plays , water parks and clubs) Good all inclusive drinks and ice creams The cons Food was repetitive at lunch and dinner We stayed 9 nights under 2 bookings (same room) but they didn’t honour free restaurant meal (You get one free if your stay 7 nights) so even though we were there 9 nights in same room they didn’t honour . If vegan real lack of food choices and not easy for staff to Understand - many items were consider vegan but included egg in making it . Our daughter has some intolerances and the staff team didn’t real pass on messages well, so we opted for plain food and went to a super market to get her snacks etc . Overall 7/10 better hotels in Turkey

We stayed here having stayed at Rixos Seagate (Sharm) for new year. We thought all hotels in the same chain would follow suit. The grounds of this hotel are very large and well kept. The Hotel itself, appears to be being renovated in stages, we were given a room upgrade to a comfort room which was a nice upgrade as the main building we were suppose to be in looked pretty run down, the main building is very large, however it feels really dated and there is hardly anyone in there and it feels a bit eary. In our newly renovated comfort room, it had a good sized bath room with shower, a mini bar that was restocked daily and had a very large balcony, the only downside was that the bed was very firm. Unlike the Rixos Seagate, A La Carte restaurants here are not included within the price of your all inclusive stay, which we found strange that all hotels in the same chain don’t follow suit. You can however book these restaurants for an addition fee that ranges between $30-40 per person. Even though the place is advertised with 12 restaurants this is not the case, there is a Mexican, Italian, Chinese & Sushi restaurant. There is also a Teppanyaki & fine dining restaurant but these were closed during our stay. We ate in the Mexican, Chinese & Italian, they all seemed nice and had a good selection. In the day time there is also a noodle bar, Ramen bar, that open for 2 hours in the afternoon, along with a beach side snack bar, where you can get fast food items along with Jacket Potatoes, Salad etc, however in our 10 nights here the selection never changed here. Now for the main buffet, this was the real let down for us, if you are someone that likes a nice omelette for breakfast, this won’t be the place for you, they cannot cook an omelette, they are always greasy, undercooked and the selection of ingredients is underwhelming. So unless you like porridge, the choice is pretty much waffles or pancakes. Dinner was much alike breakfast, it hardly changed in all the 10 nights we were there, there is a choice of, lamb, lamb Kofte, grilled chicken, pasta or grilled fish, these were the same everyday, then you had the usual dishes to go alongside. On a plus note the dessert selection was always pretty good. The drinks at the hotel seemed pretty good from all bars, however there is a mix of branded and non branded alcohol and it’s a bit of lucky dip to which you will receive, the coffees are also nice from the bars, but not from the buffet. There seemed to be lots of activities, with a large Gym, good selection of water slides and a huge kids club. There is a beach, however this is not very picturesque, plus there is a large selection of pools and an even larger selection of sunbeds. We also went on a speedboat trip from the hotel which was great, along with using the spa facilities for a Hammam and massage, which we also enjoyed, but just for note you can get things a lot cheaper than the advertised rate. Our final downside to this hotel and probably the biggest one for us, was that pretty much none of the hotel staff could speak English, this was from the reception, to guest services, to bar staff waiters and cleaners, they could hardly put 2 words together let alone a sentence. We think if you had an emergency this could be a real problem. So overall this Rixos has tarnished are view on Rixos hotels, after a fab stay in the Rixos in Egypt to be let down by this Rixos, would we stay with this chain again? Well we are not certain at present…..

Amazing stay! Just the knowledge of English of your staff was very bad so it was hard to communicate.

One of the best resorts I visited in Antalya, cleanliness, quality, attention, activities, wonderful staff,
